The difference between Facebook Ads Campaigns, Ad-Sets, Ads – Recap below:

What is Facebook Campaign?

– this is where you decide your campaign objective. There are 11 advertising objectives:

  1. Brand awareness
  2. Reach
  3. Traffic
  4. App installs
  5. Engagement
  6. Video views
  7. Lead generation
  8. Messages
  9. Conversions
  10. Catalog sales
  11. Store visits

What is an Ad-set?

– this is where you decide what your audience and budget is

Ad sets can contain one or more ads. This is where you define your targeting (audience), how much you want to spend (budget), bidding (auto, manual) and placement (where do you want to show your ad – facebook newsfeed, right column, instagram etc).

What is an Ad?

– this is your copy and ad creative

The ad level is where you test which ads (creative, copy, call to action) work better.

You can have multiple campaigns to test different objectives and see which one brings best results with your audience. You can also have multiple ad-sets to test different audiences to see which one responds better to your message or offer. And you can test multiple ads within each ad-set to see which copy, headline, call to action, button or creative (image, video, carousel etc) work best for you.
